Amy and I created this visual project to represent time as well as reference articles we have read through this class. We used natural found objects: flowers to create the colored background, gravel, lavender, okhra from the local quarry, sticks and digital images.
A special topics course in the history of French Modernism with a focus on the history of photography in France. The course takes the position that modernism and photography are conceptually inseparable. We'll cover a variety of topics that touch upon painting, illustration, printmaking, sculpture, and architecture, fashion, film. Though the focus is on photography, the course will consider the French historical, social and political context of the 1820s to recent production.
